KNOWLEDGE DRIVES FUTURE ECONOMY

Based on a solid belief that the world is interconnected, and every different environment in it nourishes each other, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, vice president and prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, has linked many different concepts to each other on several occasions.

During the Mohammed bin Rashid Library inauguration last June, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted a crucial point, which some countries might have overlooked: That the “economy requires knowledge.” Since this particular point is considered one of Dubai’s secrets of its success, Sheikh Mohammed has referred to it, in particular, on such an occasion to highlight the importance of the library as a source of knowledge, a treasure of information and a fount of education for avid readers.

Sheikh Mohammed did not say these words during the inauguration of an economic development or even government facility, but rather that of a library, which means a lot to him. It enlightens the mind, preserves the cultural heritage of nations, brightens the present, and illuminates the way to the future.

“The economy, for Sheikh Mohammed, is not only about strength; it requires knowledge, which is the key to everything. Dubai’s strong economy is attributed to fruitful efforts and research promoted by his highness over several years.”

The economy, for Sheikh Mohammed, is not only about strength; it requires knowledge, which is the key to everything. Dubai’s strong economy is attributed to fruitful efforts and research promoted by his highness over several years.

Dubai has established itself on the list of top global destinations through knowledge, understanding the nature of the world, and caring about all human needs. This has generated an economic power that made Dubai an icon for finding innovative solutions and creating economic attractions.

All of the above leads us to the Great Arab Minds initiative recently launched by Sheikh Mohammed, which is a bridge between a library and celebrating its scholars, who enjoy this nurturing environment provided by his highness, where they are recognized and appreciated. Moreover, this five-year initiative is driven by The Museum of the Future, aiming to identify and support the most prominent 1,000 Arab intellectuals across various fields and vital sectors.

Ultimately, the result of this interconnected triangle is to provide the economy with vital knowledge.
